As opposed to the mountains or the rock faces, caving takes you down to the depths. At the entrance to the cave preparations are made for the descent, either on foot or with rope. But knowing that "forewarned is forearmed", the caver takes into careful consideration the length of the descent and the effort it will take to get back up to the surface. After hours of hiking and crawling, exhausted, hampered by the weight of the pack and numbness in the limbs, the caver has to get out of the pit, with a continuous movement of the arms and a strenuous pushing from the legs.  The Frog Ascending System is a complete system for climbing rope.  All that is required is a sit harness.

The Petzl Frog Ascending System comes with all the necessary components for a climbing system. It is packaged in a small red bag that can be used for storage of the system or for storing other items. The Petzl Frog System uses all Petzl components to make the best functional system possible. It is designed after the classic European Frog system This is one of our most popular items. All you need to add to this system is a harness and you are ready to climb a 7/16" rope in a safe and controlled manner. The Frog Ascending system is one of the most popular methods for climbing rope in the world.
