Description

The Miners Grade Calcium Carbide is delivered to your door in five two-pound (quart) containers. The flat rate price covers all HAZMAT and delivery fees.

It can only be shipped to addresses in the contiguous United States. This is the only amount and size currently available for shipment.

The Carbide is drop shipped from a different location. We must have a deliverable street address and valid phone number for this item, cannot be shipped to PO Boxes.

Due to HAZMAT FEES Carbide is NON RETURNABLE! PLEASE CHECK ALL STATE AND LOCAL ORDINANCES PRIOR TO ORDERING!

Carbide can only be shipped via FEDEX Ground which is included in the price.

We understand completely that 10 pounds may not sound like an economical amount to purchase but unfortunately due to Hazardous Material Handling Fees and Regulations this is really the only economical amount to ship. Approximately $80.00 of the purchase price goes toward the cost of preparing and shipping the Calcium Carbide. If we could ship a smaller amount the cost to you would still be about the same.

We sell most Calcium Carbide to cavers and collectors of Carbide lamps. Quantity: 10 pounds, Size: miners grade. Miners grade carbide is 1/4" to 1/2" in size.

Due to they way Hazardous Materials must be handled, expect delivery in 2-10 days depending on your location in the Continental US.

Karst Sports is one of the few places you can buy carbide anymore. The shipment is actually handled by HQ, but the price is cheaper from Karst Sports than it is at HQ. Haven't tried it yet, so I can't speak to the quality. The shipment did have a few dings to the cans, but it wasn't bad. FedEx was the WORST. Thankfully, the folks at Karst Sports were super kind and helped sort out the shipment with FedEx even though it wasn't their fault. Super happy with Karst Sports' service.

Working for a National Park cave, I utilize carbide infgd felling of a story of discovery. It helps to bring things to life from the darkness. Plus, it keeps some of the old ways alive.

    over priced

as karst says the shipping cost is almost $80.00 dollar, the box is made to hold 6 cans you only get 5 cans For very little more money they could include the sixth can and would make the cost per pound less and give you a better value. And the cans did have some dents

One of the better deals for mail order carbide

Calcium carbide has become a little hard to find and pricey to mail. Karst Sports is actually a good deal when you consider how expensive it is to ship.
