The Charlet family of ice axes is vast.

From the ancestral "pioletta" (a type of small axe used to chop steps in the ice when climbing) to the QUARK ERGO, an entire line of axes has been developed in various shapes and sizes specifically to address the terrain diversity encountered by high altitude enthusiasts.

To unite the axe with the climber, prevent its fall while climbing and alleviate the effort of continually holding it by the handle, the ice axe may be equipped with a leash.
