The Petzl Vector™ Performance Lifeline and Rescue Cord sets a new standard for rope. In a partnership with Samson Rope Technologies, Petzl and Samson have developed a new rope using a proprietary technique called Fusion Technology™. This technique incorporates a polyester sheath over a nylon core that work together to provide supple handling, greatly reduced sheath slippage, ability to retain shape, and superior abrasion resistance. The core has continuous nylon fibres, which give the rope is amazing strength, while the 32 carrier polyester sheath fibres protect the core against abrasion and help to main the rounded shape. The Vector's shape retention helps provide amazingly consistent interface with all mechanical rope devices and prusiks.

Petzl Vector™ rope is available in two rope diameters along with 8mm rescue cord. The Vector™ 11mm is designed for rope access (working at heights), wilderness search and rescue, law enforcement, military use, tree care, work on communication towers, and theatrical industries. The Vector™ 12.5 is engineered for urban fire and rescue, industrial emergency response, public utilities, and construction industries. The 8mm Rescue Cord is built specifically with tandem prusiks in mind and provides amazingly consistent testing results when used in conjunction with the Vector™ lifeline, the Rescue Cord also functions as a personal escape line.

Petzl Vector™ rope is made in the United States of America. It is certified to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards for Life Safety Rope for general use (12.5 mm diameter), for light use (11mm) and for personal escape (8mm).
