The Petzl Zyper Y is a double lanyard, energy absorber. The Zyper Y is a real energy absorption system, effective and easy to handle.
It is designed for absorbing the energy of a fall, in a dynamic way, by sliding of the rope in the absorber. Petzl's concern has been to make this energy absorber as simple and reliable as possible. Special stitching of very high strength joins the rope to the 2 arms of the Y-shaped webbing lanyard. No bulky knot! The braking rope is tidily stowed on the gear-loops of the harness, making it difficult to catch your feet in it..
