Due to extremely high demand for Mountain House products there may be delays in shipping of your order.

As you may be aware there is an extreme demand for Mountain House #10 cans in the US market. Currently the manufacturer has stopped shipping to a majority of their dealers in hopes of keeping some availability at a few large dealers. We are receiving large shipments every week however we are still experiencing backlogs on many of the items in excess of 45 days. This situation will be the same at all the dealers Mountain House is currently supplying.

We anticipate the shortage of Mountain House #10 cans to last until the mid-summer. To guarantee arrival of your order by a specific date we highly recommend placing your order more than 60 days in advance. We are able to ship some product immediately based on what ASAP availability we have after we receive our weekly shipments. If there are any delays you will be notified immediately. We encourage you to place your order now so that you are at least in the queue to receive product as it becomes available. If you wait until all items are available for ASAP shipment we currently anticipate September 1st as the first date when all backorders have been filled and we have availability on all products. This does not mean an order placed today will not be entirely filled until September because those orders will be in the queue to receive product as it becomes available in the coming months.

Mountain House® freeze-dried foods are packed in airtight NITROGEN PACKED #10 cans. Up to 98% of the residual oxygen has been removed. Their unique canning process uses both vacuum oxygen removal and nitrogen flushing. This is a time consuming and slightly more costly process…but well worth it. It is the same process mandated by the U.S. Military for whom they also can. Their foods will have the longest shelf life available…up to 30 years! Each can is coated with a protective enamel inside and out for double protection, including the lid. The can contents are protected until you are ready to open and use them. After opening, they recommend using the content within 2 to 3 weeks for best results and taste; using the convenient resealable plastic lid between uses.
